How GoRemit Overseas Remittances WorkEFees

GoRemit sends international wire transfers (remittances) via a system called SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication). Funds are sent to an Intermediary Bank before being sent to the final beneficiary bank in the destination country (Depending on the beneficiary bank, it may be necessary to send funds via more than one Intermediary Bank).

Shinsei Bank Foreign Currency Remittances: JPY2,000*
Yen Remittances: JPY2,000 + 0.1% of the remittance amount (Minimum charge of JPY1,500)

  • Exchange rate fees are included in the TTS rate for that day.
  • In general, we are not able to advise customers of overseas bank fees in advance.

STEP1 Apply to us

STEP 1-1

Application

Please fill in the application form on the GoRemit website, print it out, and mail it to us together with the Documents Required for Application (business) below.

STEP 1-2

Receive Your Welcome Pack

Your registration will be completed within approximately 7-10 business days after we receive your application form.

When all registration requirements have been satisfied, a Welcome Pack and Online Service Password will be sent to your registered company address by registered mail, and a confirmation letter will be sent to your company's representative by unforwardable Restricted Delivery Mail Service (collection restricted to yourself).

  • Application will be screened based on our rules.

STEP2 Register Beneficiary

STEP 2-1

Registration of Beneficiary Information with Online Remittance Service (only available in Japanese)

After you have received the welcome pack and password for the online remittance service, please log into the online service to register your beneficiaries.

When registering a beneficiary, you will also be required to apply for the remittance limit for that beneficiary.

If your application is accepted, registration is normally completed about 1 to 3 business days after receiving the registration request.

STEP 2-2

Receive your "Registration Letter"

Your registration will be completed within approximately 1-3 business days after we receive your application form.

When all registration requirements have been satisfied, we will send you a "Registration Letter" by post. You can also confirm completion of registration online.

  • Application will be screened based on our rules.

Overseas remittances cannot be executed until registration of beneficiaries is completed.

STEP3 Remittance

STEP 3-1

Remittance instruction and Domestic Transfer (Furikomi)

Send us a remittance request form by Fax or via online and send funds in Yen to the account detailed in the Registration Letter.

GoRemit applies a service fee, converts the funds into the specified currency at that dayLs exchange rate and then sends them to your pre-registered beneficiary via telegraphic transfer.

STEP 3-2

Remittance

GoRemit will transfer funds overeas after exchanging the amount to the selected foreign currency* at that day's TTS exchange rate. Once the transfer has been sent, you will receive a notice called an "Advice of Transfer" containing all of the remittance details.**

  • If you have selected the currency of remittance as JPY, funds will be sent without conversion.
  • This is not a notice of arrival of funds at the overseas account. Funds may take 1-3 business days to arrive.

STEP 3-3

Arrival of Funds

Funds will arrive at the final beneficiary bank after being processed via an intermediary bank.*

  • Overseas Intermediary Bank and final Beneficiary Bank fees may be deducted from the remittance amount.
Confirmation for Remittance

Overseas remittance limits will be set for each beneficiary (BIC code).

Apply Online (Business)

For corporate customers, please create an application form from the "Online Application" button below.

  • If you are unable to print the form, please take note of the registration number displayed on the screen after application. Please call us (0120-227-503 weekdays from 9:00am - 5:00pm) and inform us of the registration number. We will print the application form send it to you at the address stated in the application form.

If your corporate's substantial controllers do not include any "foreign PEPs(Politically Exposed Persons)" ("[1] An important public official of a foreign country", "[2] A person formerly in category [1]", or "[3] A family member of a person in category [1] or [2]"), please download and print out the application form by clicking the below download application form button (If your corporate's substantial controllers include "foreign PEPs", please contact GoRemit customer service (0120-227-503) and follow the guidance on how to apply. ).

Front and Reverse side - the residential address noted on your Japanese Driving licence must match the one on your application form(copy).

Health Insurance Certificate(Copy)

If your address is shown on the reverse side, please provide this side as well (copy).

Residence Card(Copy) or Special Permanent Resident Certificate(Copy)

Front and back - the residential address noted on your identification document must match the one on your application form (copy).

Individual Number Card(Copy)

Please do not submit a copy of the reverse side showing your Individual Number (copy).

Register/Change of Beneficiary Account Details

Please note that under Japan's Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Law, we are obliged to verify the legitimacy of underlying transactions.

Customers may be requested to provide supporting documents or written evidence to confirm the nature of the goods, the country of origin, and the place of shipment.

You can register new beneficiaries or change existing beneficiary details, including remittance limits, by applying via one of the below methods.

After logging in to the Online Remittance Service, please select gManage Beneficiaries (Ǘ)h and click gAdd Beneficiaries (lj)h button in order to register new beneficiary information.

Please check the Beneficiary Information that you would like to change and click the "Change Beneficiary (̕ύX)" button.

By Post Please clicking the gDownload Application Formh button below and download the application form to add/change beneficiary information (CO ljEύX\(@lElƎp)).

If your application is accepted, registration is normally completed about 1 to 3 business days after receiving the registration request.

Upon considering the requested remittance volume, remittance limits will be set by Shinsei BankLs prescribed screening.

Please check the gConfirmation for Remittanceh for details. If the requested annual total remittance volume limit exceeds JPY 3.6 million, please submit the required documents to validate the details on the submitted form.

These documents need to be sent us via FAX or Post when you apply with our Online Remittance Service.

Upon completion of the screening, we will set a Limit and notify you of it by the Online Remittance Service and registration letter.

Register a Change of Company Information

To change your company details such as office address please send us an original copy of the company registration (Toukibo Touhon) issued within the last 6 months.

To change the name of your company representative please send us an original copy of the company registration and also an original copy of the seal certificate (Inkanshoumesho) issued within the last 6 months.

If your company does not update your company address, your company may not receive important letters from us.

Please note that if mail is returned to us because the recipientf address is invalid, your companyf transactions may temporarily be stopped until we confirm your companyfs latest address.
