Shinsei Bank's mortgage-backed securitization team is an active participant in both residential and commercial mortgage-backed securitizations. We have the resources to create innovative deal structures to match every customer's unique situation.
Leveraging our strong balance sheet, we regularly purchase and securitize residential mortgage loans. Our experience and know-how enable us to quickly and accurately price a wide variety of loan portfolios, even ones with relatively low performance. We also arrange securitization of customer's real estates, either directly or indirectly securitizing by means of non-recourse loans, to furnish better solutions for customers. In addition, we have established an apartment loan product on a non-recourse basis in coordination with our group companies.
Within the Shinsei Bank Group we are able to hold in trust, distribute and service all MBS transactions. This "full-service" securitization is available to customers, eliminating the need to deal with multiple organizations during the life of a single deal. Shinsei Bank offers “one-stop shopping.”
In 2004, the MBS team launched a collateralized debt obligation (CDO), called "Synergy Funding Senior Beneficiary Interest," backed by multiple mezzanine commercial mortgage-backed transactions – the first repackage securitization of Japanese assets arranged by a Japanese bank. This product has received numerous industry awards.
