J-Debit transactions with SBI Shinsei Bank cash cards are not eligible for the Point Reward Project which applies to cashless payments.

What is J-Debit?

The J-Debit function on your SBI Shinsei Bank cash card enables you to make instant payments at J-Debit affiliated stores. Not only can you make payments for shopping purchases, payments for public utility bills and taxes along with cash withdrawal services will also be available. All purchases and withdrawals will be removed immediately from your JPY savings account of your PowerFlex account.

How it works

Shopping purchases or Payment for public utility bills and taxes

J-Debit is very easy to use. All you need is your cash card and 4-digit PIN information.

When making your purchase or payment, tell the store clerk you wish to pay by J-debit. When making your purchase or payment, tell the store clerk you wish to pay by J-debit. *Payment for public utility bills and taxes will only be available at J-Debit affiliated public institutions and stores.

Cash-Out service

You can use this service at affiliate stores for making purchases and to withdraw cash. You can use this function to make cash withdrawals without making a purchase.
Tell the store clerk the cash amount you wish to withdraw at the cash register.
The payment will be the amount of the purchase including the cash withdrawal amount. The payment and cash withdrawal will be settled instantly by J-Debit.
*Cash-Out fees may incur at some affiliate locations.

Daily Limit

JPY 500,000 at default amount. The amount can be changed from JPY 0 to JPY 2 million.
The maximum amount of Cash-Out withdrawal per transaction is JPY 50,000.*2

*2 The affiliate stores may set the Cash-Out withdrawal limit to JPY 50,000.

Important Reminders

  • If you have lost your cash card, please contact PowerCall (0120-456-022) immediately.
  • If you enter the wrong PIN several times in succession, the J-Debit and ATM function on your cash card will be invalidated. If you have forgot your PIN or your card is invalidated, please contact PowerCall (0120-456-022).
  • Please make sure PIN is not seen (including shop assistants) when entering the information on the terminal.
  • If there is insufficient balance in your Yen savings account, the overdraft function of your Yen time deposit may be used to to make the payment.
